Kumasi Mayor drags public sector reforms Boss to court

THE ACTING Kumasi Mayor, Osei Assibey Antwi, has threatened to haul Public Sector Reforms Chief Executive Officer, Thomas Kumasi Boafo, to court in the coming days.

According to him, Kusi Boafo has 14-days to publicly apologise and retract a false and derogatory remarks he made about him, else he would go to court for redress.

Koffie and Partners, lawyers for Osei Assibey, who claimed Kusi Boafo has dented the image of their client on Oman FM, said the 14 days ultimatum starts from May 29, 2021.

In a letter of the lawyers, which has been sighted by THE NEW PUBLISHER, the lawyers said Kusi Boafo has made two wild and unfounded statements about Osei Assibey.

Firstly, they said Kusi Boafo, who has been linked with the KMA Chief Executive job, said “Osei Assibey says he has given money to Kennedy Agyapong to be given to me as bribe”.

Secondly, the lawyers claimed Kumasi Boafo also said “Osei Assibey has rented all radio stations, including Ashh FM and placed people on them to verbally abuse me”.

The Kumasi Mayor’s lawyers stated that there is no iota of truth in the two wild, unfortunate and false comments made about their client so only a retraction and an apology could stop a court action.

“Our instructions hold that on the aforesaid programme you made a plethora of statements and comments on which are not only unfortunate but defamatory of our client and casts a slur on his hard-earned reputation”.
