Kumasi Mob Kills Suspected Thief
A MAN believed to be in his early 30’s has been killed by an angry mob at the Suame Magazine area in Kumasi, the capital of Ashanti region.
The deceased, whose real identity was still unknown as at the time of filing this report, allegedly stole a tricycle, resulting in his demise.
He was said to be passing through the Suame Magazine area with the stolen tricycle when owners of the item spotted it and surrounded him.
According to eyewitnesses, the suspected thief tried to give some explanations as to how he came about the cycle, but they all fell on deaf ears as the charged crowd, mostly artisans, beat him till he gave up the ghost.
The body of the deceased was later dumped at the road side by his killers. Security agencies, who were informed about the incident, rushed to the place and took the body to the morgue.
One eyewitness told the paper that stealing of tricycles had been on the increase in some parts of Suame Magazine lately, adding that this led to the institution of instant justice in the area.
