Kumasi Resident Hauls MCE To Antoa …Over GH¢1,840 ‘Debt’
Martin Gyamfo, a resident of Adum, in Kumasi, has threatened to visit the shrines of Antoa Nyama to curse the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ejisu, Hon. Serwaa Derkye, over an unpaid GH¢1,840 debt.
According to the angry man, he would only rescind his decision to curse the MCE if she pays the debt within one week.
Speaking on Nhyira FM, Gyamfi said he and his group, ‘Famous NPP’ of Adum, supported the MCE to attain her position, and in the process incurred a debt of GH¢1,840m but the MCE had refused to pay the money.
“Over two years ago, my group, the Famous NPP, hired cars to convey people from various places to Ejisu to support the MCE to be endorsed.
“In the course of the campaign, we spent GH¢1,840, and we have tried to take the money back from the MCE, but to no avail. Serwaa Derkye has turned her back at us since she assumed office, and we are taking our money back”.
Meanwhile, Osei Kwaku, a top NPP member in Kumasi, has condemned Gyamfi for denting the image of the Ejisu MCE in public.
Speaking on the same network, he assured to pay the so-called debt to Gyamfi, latest by today (Wednesday) to settle the impasse.
