THE NEW Patriotic Party (NPP) has a lot of work to do if it wants to realise its vision of winning more votes in the Ashanti regional capital in the 2020 general elections, reports suggest.
Residents of the Garden City are fast losing confidence in the ruling political party as they are not happy with the performance of the government.
This revelation came to bear when some of them expressed their frustration during a phone-in programme on Nhyira FM, recently.
The residents were particularly peeved about the bad state of roads in the city and its environs.
Kumasi Votes
Kumasi residents have, since the inception of the 1992 constitution, consistently voted massively for the NPP, making the city the party’s stronghold.
Sudden Anger
But of late, most of them have become ‘mad’ at the government’s performance in the region.
Some of the people that openly spoke on radio condemned the government for turning its back at Kumasi after winning power.
They said virtually all the contractors that are supposed to fix Kumasi roads have left the site, turning most construction sites in the city into an eyesore, particularly when it rains.
