Kwesi Appiah Backs African Contingent for Russia 2018
GHANA HEAD Coach, Kwesi Appiah, has thrown his weight behind the African contingent for the Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup.
The five nations that would represent the continent at the Mundial are Nigeria, Senegal, Tunisia, Egypt and Morocco.
After making three successive appearances at the World Cup, the Ghana Black Stars failed to book a ticket for next year’s tournament. But Appiah told the media that despite Ghana’s absence, he would monitor the tournament with keen interest.
According to him, he would be backing the five Africa representatives so that they would make the continent proud at the tournament.
“We did not qualify and that is unfortunate, but I will still be watching the tournament with keen interest from the start to the end.
“I will wholeheartedly support the five Africa representatives so that they would advance further and make all of us proud”.
Kwesi Appiah has reportedly put in place plans to rebuild the senior national team, the Black Stars, so they can qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup to be staged in Qatar.
