Landguards Attack Three Siblings at Gbetsile
Three persons are currently nursing various wounds visited on them on Wednesday when they attempted to stop some ‘land guards’ from working on a parcel of land said to be in dispute at Gbetsile in the Kpone-Katamanso Municipality of the Greater AAccra Region. The three were Comforter Ablorde, Frederick Tetteh and Timothy Bortey.
According to information from the EMEFS Police station at Mataheko, six land guards, led by one Ahmed, assaulted the three for questioning their presence on the land.
Narrating her ordeal to THE PUBLISHER, Comforter Ablorde, one of the victims, Ahmed did not only stop a pay loader from working on the disputed land, but also led five gun-wielding macho men to assault the three by hitting them with clubs and the butts of their guns amidst sporadic shooting.
Sensing danger as eyewitnesses shouted for help, the land guards fired a few more shots into the air and sped off. The victims reported the case at the EMEF Police station and were issued with police medical forms for treatment.
When contacted, the Chief of Gbetsile, Nii Teye Kojo Sune Amankwa, confirmed the incident to THE PUBLISHER.
Meanwhile, the Kpone-Katamanso Municipal Chief Executive, Solomon Tettey Appiah, and the EMEFS Police, who later went to the scene where they found some used cartridges, would not speak to the media over the incident.
