Landguards Terrorize Dawhwenya Residents
Residents of Dawhwenya in the Ningo-Prampram District of the Greater Accra Region are demanding police protection following sustained attacks on their lives by land guards in recent weeks.
The people have also called on the Presidency to conduct investigations into claims by the so-called land-guards that they were sent by some powerful people at the Flagstaff house.
An elder of the area, Jacob Darpoh, said the demolition exercises, which were normally conducted without any court orders, have rendered many families in the area homeless
According to him, the police have so far failed to do anything tangible to stop the well-armed land guards from violently assaulting residents.
He, therefore, called on the Office of the President to, as a matter of urgency, investigate claims that the attackers were sent by some people at the flagstaff house.
“We need assurance from government that the Presidency has no hand in the barbaric activities of these land guards in Dawhwenya”, Mr. Darpoh stressed.
