Lasmid Wins MTN Hitmaker Season 8

Rapper Lasmid Kela has won the eighth season of the music reality show, MTN Hitmaker. He beat competition from three others; Kofi Pages, Nessa and Alibaba to emerge the winner of this year’s competition. 

For his prize package, the Fante rapper took home a cash prize of 120,000 cedis, a recording deal, a plaque and souvenirs from sponsors. Kofi Pages who came 2nd, also received a cash prize of 20,000 cedis.

Alibaba and Nessa who came 3rd and 4th respectively, walked away with some cash prizes.

The reality show provides a platform for upcoming artistes to not only showcase their talent, but the opportunity to enter the music industry as professionals.

The making of artistes like Adina, KiDi and Kuami Eugene were through the MTN Hitmaker platform.

The grand finale held at the Fantasy Dome saw performances from Omo Ada rapper, Medikal, Mr Drew, Krymi and OV among others on the night.

This year’s edition of MTN Hitmaker started with 12 contestants and over six weeks, eight of them, Mawuly, Jeremy, Kojo Karl, Qwesi Ishe, Mimi, Sinam, Singer P and Derrick were evicted.
