The lead suspect in the murder of Legon Law lecturer, Professor Yaw Benneh has died at the Police Hospital in Accra on Saturday.
According to Police, he had been sick for a while and had been put on oxygen at the intensive care unit of the hospital but died after some time.
The cleaner, Mr. James Nana Wamba, earlier confessed his involvement in the murder of the law lecturer.
The prosecution, Inspector Ebenezer Teye-Okuffo made this known to the Kaneshie District Court on Wednesday, September 30, 2020.
He told the court that the cleaner, was first arrested on the 13th of September and confessed to the crime during the course of interrogation.
Inspector Teye-Okuffo also told the court that Mr. Wamba mentioned Mr. Nkansah and two others as his accomplices.
About prof Benneh’s murder
Professor Emmanuel Yaw Benneh was killed on September 12, 2020, at his Adjiringanor residence in Accra.
He was found lying in a pool of blood in is home.
Police arrived at his residence with a crime scene investigation team from the Criminal Investigation Department headquarters to commence investigations.
