Ghana Premier League (GPL) club, Legon Cities, have confirmed the signing of Richmond Antwi to strengthen their options in attack in the second round of the league.
The 2018/19 Sudanese Premier League top scorer joins Legon Cities on a free transfer after ending his stint with Al-Merrikh SC last year.
The Royals announced the signing of Antwi in a brief statement on their official twitter handle in the early hours of Saturday, February 13, 2021.
“Great to have you in our fold Richmond Antwi…Welcome to the Royals…” the tweet reads.
He opted to join Legon Cities on a reported three-year deal after his move to South African Premier League side, Baroka FC, earlier could not materialize.
He netted 19 goals for Al Khartoum Al Watani to emerge top scorer of the 2018/19 season in Sudan.
Antwi joined Al-Merreikh halfway in the 2019/2020 season, scoring 7 goals in 13 matches to help them clinch the Sudan Premiership title.
His arrival will be in handy to help solve the club’s scoring blushes in the ongoing GPL campaign.
