Leicester City Appoints New Manager

Leicester City have appointed former PSV Eindhoven boss Ruud van Nistelrooy as their new manager.

The Dutchman replaces Steve Cooper, who was dismissed last weekend after managing the Foxes for just 12 Premier League matches. Van Nistelrooy has signed a contract that runs until June 2027 at the King Power Stadium.

“I’m proud and excited,” said the 48-year-old. “Everyone I speak to about Leicester City is enthusiastic. They share great stories about the people working at the club, the supporters, and, of course, the club’s recent history is impressive.

I’m excited to start, get to know everyone, and give everything I can for the football club.”

Leicester currently sit 16th in the Premier League, one point above the relegation zone, and will face Brentford on Saturday.

First-team coach Ben Dawson will manage the team in west London before Van Nistelrooy takes charge for the first time against West Ham at home on December 3.
