Libya Slaves Need Our Prayers – Joe Mettle
Award winning gospel artiste, Joe Mettle, has called for prayers for the victims of the Libya slave trade.
“Let’s all stand and speak against this issue of slavery. Let’s all stand and pray with our brothers in Libya. We are one people,” he posted on his Facebook page Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the United Nations Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres has called on African leaders to take a stand against the inhuman act in the ongoing Libya black African trade.
According to Guterres, the injustice practice by the unidentified Libyan perpetrators should be brought to book thereby allowing the law to take its own cause.
President Nana Akufo-Addo has also described the alleged slave auctions as gross and scandalous abuse of human right,
“The current slave auctions of Africans in Libya are not only gross and scandalous abuses of human rights, but are also mockeries of the alleged solidarity of African nations grouped in the African Union (AU), of which Libya is a member,” the President posted on his Facebook page Tuesday.
