Liverpool legend John Barnes has expressed his joy and satisfaction after spending time with kids at a football skills and leadership clinic in Ghana.
The clinic organized by Standard Chartered who are sponsors of Liverpool saw kids of stakeholders including employees and clients as well as Girls from the Banks goal program participating at the PRESEC Legon Astro turf.
Barnes who is regarded as one of the greatest English players of all time and played for Liverpool for a decade stressed on the importance of imparting key values of life which include unity and discipline into the children.
“I have been coming to Africa for many years and once upon a time it was about looking for good African players to take to Europe this time it’s about imparting our values on all children even if they don’t want to be footballers but decent members of society.
“This is about giving children opportunities and instilling key values in them. These values include discipline, integrity and ambition,” he stated.
