Mohammed Salah found the net thrice to help Liverpool thump Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon in the English Premier League.
Salah scored his first hat-trick since March to send Jurgen Klopp’s side above Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table.
He scored a hat-trick that was completed in style as Liverpool racked up a fifth successive Premier League win to extend their unbeaten record. It was a chastening match for Bournemouth, especially Steve Cook, who scored a farcical own goal and also had a hand in two of Salah’s strikes.
Salah opened the scoring when Roberto Firmino hit a 30-yard shot that home keeper Asmir Begovic carelessly pushed out in the direction of the Egyptian.
He doubled his tally with a composed finish after driving at the Bournemouth defence, while Steve Cook back-heeled the ball into his own net while attempting a clearance to make it 3-0.
Salah then completed his hat-trick after rounding Begovic, cutting back to beat the Bournemouth keeper for a second time, and poking the ball past Nathan Ake on the line.
After a fifth straight league win, Liverpool move one point clear of City, but the reigning champions will return to the summit if they avoid defeat at the Bridge against Chelsea later in the day.
