IT IS confirmed that a group of armed men claiming to be National Security officials in the company of four armed soldiers forcefully broke into the private home of the immediate past Director of Operations at the Presidency, Lord Commey, and without legal permit, forcefully went away with six of his private cars.
The invaders claimed they were sent from the National Security outfit to confiscate the said cars on the grounds that they are not Lord Commey’s private property but rather state cars.
The cars were moved by the armed men from Mr. Commey’s residence and sent to the National Security office annex behind the Osu Stadium.
The seized cars includes a Range Rover Vogue which Mr. Commey uses himself, a Mesarati Saloon belonging to his wife and four pickups belonging to his private company.
When the armed men arrived at Mr. Commey’s home, he was absent therefore his aides and other occupants of the home were hesitant in allowing them enter.
It resulted in a misunderstanding which left the residents assaulted before the armed men forcefully entered. They then called tow-trucks to come over and move the cars.
The incident drew a sizeable crowd and nearly resulted into a free for all fight. At that point, Mr. Commey arrived from town and upon seeing the scene ad being briefed on what was happening, he entered into a compromise with the armed men that they should take the car keys and drive to the National Security office they claim they came from, rather than tow away the cars on the trucks.
Mr. Commey confirmed to THE NEW PUBLISHER that indeed he has since been in communication with the National Security outfit and it is true his cars had been sent there.
Mr. Commey confirmed he has been assured his private cars would be returned to him.
In a related development, former Minister for Defense, Dominic Nitiwul, is also reported to have had his private cars snatched from him under similar circumstances but later returned to him.
Former Health Minister, Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye, barely a week ago, complained that “on Saturday , 18th January 2205, a group led by Kabu Saint Emmanuel and Joseph Tettey, both NDC-affiliated Assemblymen from Ledzokuku, unlawfully invaded” his storage facility and under the false pretense of having Oral authorization made away with his persona property.
“They forcefully gained entry, vandalized the premises and unlawfully removed items including Dr. Okoe Boye’s personal clothes, furniture, oil, boxes of books write by Dr. Okoe Boye, motorbikes etc etc.”, a statement from Dr. Okoe Boye’s office noted.
