‘Lover Boy’ Nana Addo Extols Wife at Manhyia
PRESIDENT NANA Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has showered tons of praises on his wife, Rebecca Akufo-Addo, for being a development-oriented First Lady.
He stressed that the first lady’s decision to solicit for funds to construct a Mother and Baby Unit (MBU) at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi was a laudable one that had been warmly welcomed and appreciated by majority of Ghanaians.
The president disclosed that he was thrilled about how ‘Madam Rebecca’ managed to secure funding for the important project.
“Majority of Ghanaians are happy about how the First Lady, Rebecca Akufo-Addo, intervened to help get the new MBU constructed at KATH in Kumasi.
“I am also happy and proud about how the First Lady managed to get the edifice constructed to help boost healthcare delivery in the hospital”, he stated.
President Akufo-Addo made the remarks at a durbar held at the Manhyia Palace on Friday to welcome him to Kumasi on the first of his five-day regional working tour of the Ashanti Region.
He expressed the hope that the avoidable death of mothers that visited the hospital would be a thing of the past, following his wife’s intervention.
The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, sat in state at the durbar, which was attended by Asante chiefs, politicians and people from all walks of life.
