Lovers Kill Taxi Driver …And Sell His Car For GH¢14,000
Two lovers are currently in the grips of the police for allegedly killing a taxi driver, hiding his body near a cocoa farm and fleeing with his car to sell.
The two suspects-Shantel Asante aka ‘Obaa Yaa’ and Isaac Manu, popularly known as (Kwaku Nkrumah or Happy) both 27-year-olds have been in hiding for many months now until they were napped by the police.
The two lovers, according to reports, on January 7, 2019 hired the services of the taxi driver, Stephen Amankwa Okyere, aged 44.
They negotiated with Stephen Amankwa Okyere to drive them in his taxi from Asante Mampong to Kumasi but they killed the driver during the journey.
The lovers then dumped the 44-year-old driver’s body in a cocoa farm at Ninting, near Asante Mampong.
The two love birds then absconded with the taxi cab, leaving no trace of where they were hiding. Reports reaching THE NEW PUBLISHER suggests.
The police, however, managed to apprehend Shantel from her hideout in Accra after some painstaking investigations, the paper learnt.
According to police sources, the security agents intensified their search for Isaac Manu, who consistently proved elusive, until he was nabbed few days ago.
Preliminary investigations by the police indicated that the two lovers took the taxi cab to the Central Region and sold it for GH¢ 14,000 to enrich themselves.
