The Love’s Closet Foundation has donated variety of items for the wellbeing and sustainability of school children to the Klicks Africa foundation.
The donations which were made up stationery, educational material, toys, detergents, nose masks, cutlery, a fridge, microwave and toiletries, valued at GHc15,192 were donated to support the provision of care and the training of the students of the Klicks Africa foundation.
The Klicks Africa foundation provides care and educational training for children with special needs, especially autism.
A cheque in the sum of GHc 8,000 was also handed over to Klicks Africa foundation to help support the tuition of children with autism whose parents cannot afford the payment.
The donation is in keeping with the Love’s Closet Foundation’s annual donation to causes that provide care for children with special needs.
Together with its partners, Love’s Closet Foundation has over the last 4 years, organized a thrift fair dubbed “The Love’s Closet Charity Fair”, and has supported with the proceeds from the fair as well as donations, institutions including the Hopesetters Autism Centre in Tema and the Autism Awareness, Care & Training Centre in Kokomlemle.
In 2019, the Love’s Closet Foundation renovated the laundry room and lavatory of children’s ward of the Accra Psychiatric hospital.
The co-founder of the Love’s Closet Foundation, Mrs. Jo Ann Sackey during the donation said, “With the onset of the pandemic, we were unable to organize the charity in 2020 as well as this year. We are however grateful to our donors and partners for their donations in cash and kind that enabled us support the Klicks Africa foundation this year”.
On her part, Mrs. Mary Kuffour, founder of the Klicks Africa Foundation thanked the Love’s Closet Foundation for the donation and promised to put them to very good use.
She called on institutions and individuals to support organizations that cater for children with special needs.
