Loyal Ladies Still in Campaign Mood
THE ASHANTI regional branch of the Loyal Ladies, a splinter group in the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), says it is still in a campaign mood, one-year after helping the party win the 2016 elections.
Members of the powerful female-fraternity have been organizing public events and making donations to orphanages across the country to keep the party’s fire burning.
The group, led by its Ashanti Regional Captain, Martha Kodua, recently donated food and other items to the Edwenase Rehabilitation Center in Kumasi to support the inmates.
Among the items donated were mattresses, bags of rice, detergents, toiletries, and dining hall table.
Addressing the media after the donation, Martha Kodua said her group wants to sustain the energy that helped the party to win the 2016 polls.
“We have been active with our public outreach programmes and donations to orphanages and people who are in dire need, even after the 2016 polls.
“We are doing these projects because we want the extraordinary passion, which energized the members to help us win the 2016 elections, to be sustained”, Martha said.
She assured that the group would continue to work hard for the NPP so that the 2020 polls would be a done deal, and thanked the Kumasi Mayor, Osei Assibey, for always supporting her group.
The Loyal Ladies, with branches across the ten regions in the country, is made up of hard-working females, who are dyed-in-the-wool members of the ruling NPP.
The group used its own resources to campaign for the NPP and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in the 2016 general elections.
