Lumba Junior Goes Blind…Begs for Support

Embattled look-alike of veteran highlife musician Daddy Lumba, Kwame Anokye popularly known as Anokye Supremo has called for support from Ghanaians to help cure his blind ailment.

The musician who has been diagnosed with brain tumor urgently needs $10,000 to undergo surgery in India.

Opening up on his ailment in an interview with Kofi Adomah Nwanwani on Kofi TV, Anokye narrated that he is unable to breath from his nostrils due to the tumor. He has to open his mouth to gasp for breath.

“I am unable to breath and sleep due to the ailment. At night I only sleep for fifteen to twenty minutes. I am really suffering and need the help of Ghanaians to help me undergo the surgery,” he said.

The ailment which began as a mere headache in October has rendered the musician blind.

According to him, he visited the Korle-bu Teaching hospital during the initial stage of his ailment but the hospital kept on delaying results from a test run on him.

Now, the tumor which had blinded the right eye has also affected the left eye.

The ailment keeps worsening daily, and doctor’s fear the musician will die if he doesn’t seek medical attention in India by Tuesday, December 25.

Anokye who was formerly known as Lumba Junior, was discovered in 2010 in ‘Just Like You’, a reality TV show which gave artistes the platform to mimic their favourite celebrities.

Until his ailment, the musician was reported to have been sued by Veteran artist Daddy Lumba for imitating him.

He later changed his name from DL Junior to Anokye Supremo.

The artiste is known for songs like ‘Befa Me’, ‘Efri Nea Efire’ and ‘Hye Wo Ho Den’, ‘Krom Aye De’, and ‘Hash Wuish’.
