The Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon, Ms Lydia Alhassan, today visited the injured victims of the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election violence.
The MP who was sworn in yesterday in Parliament paid a visit to the injured persons at the 37 Military Hospital.
She donated a sum of Five Thousand Ghana Cedis (5,000) to the injured victims and wished them a speedy recovery.
The Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election was marred by violence as some National Security operatives stormed the house of NDC candidate Delali Brempong.
They claimed they had intelligence that NDC operatives had stockpiled arms in the house.
Some National Security operatives shot and wounded several NDC members at the private residence of the party’s candidate at La-Bawaleshie about an hour into the by-election.
Official communication from police said six persons sustained gunshot wounds.
No death was recorded. The police have begun a full-scale probe to identify the gunmen who were masked and to bring them to book.
