The Member of Parliament for Madina Constituency, Hon. Francis-Xavier Kojo Sosu has extended his benevolence gesture and act of goodness to the Danfa Health Center and community members after they appealed to him for support.
The gesture formulating of two delivery beds was done last Saturday, October 16 2021 to enhance health care delivery at the facility.
The facility which serves six other adjoining communities has for the past five years been operating with a single delivery bed.
The development has over the years compelled most pregnant women to access other facilities for delivery.
Speaking at a ceremony to hand over the beds to the facility, the MP for Madina said the gesture was in line with ensuring good health delivery in the area.
“Not only should we have health facilities but all the equipment needed to ensure that people can achieve good health. This centre has just one delivery bed which has broken down and they have always been struggling, a lot of women who are due to deliver fear to come here because they know the delivery bed is not good. As you know health is fundamental human rights as well and how do you achieve that right without the appropriate equipment” he said.
Hon. Francis-Xavier Sosu, expressed appreciation to the Chiefs, Elders and residents of Danfa for the foresight and leadership in ensuring that the Danfa Health Center was established.
He also thanked Management and Staff of the Danfa Health Center as well members of his Health Project for their commitment and service to the people of Madina and Danfa in particular.
He said the donation formed part of his vision to achieve SDG 3 which reads Good Health and Well-being for the people of Madina. He also reiterated his commitment to ensuring that the Danfa Health Center is enhanced to the status of a Polyclinic.
