Mahama Jokes Too Dry ― Edmund Kyei
PRESIDENT JOHN Dramani Mahama has been told to desist from issuing comic statements because his “comic statements are not interesting enough to ignite laughter”.
A top member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Communication Team, Edmund Kyei, made the disclosure and accused Mr. Mahama of being “incompetent” even out of government.
He described Mr. Mahama’s recent statement that “President Akufo-Addo needs Obinim sticker to cure his Incompetence”, during a party rally at Wa, as one of Mr. Mahama’s comic statements.
According to him, Mr. Mahama issued several comic statements even when he was the President of Ghana and that the attitude contributed to the embarrassing defeat of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2016 polls.
He said after the 2016 defeat, many political observers and pundits thought that Mr. Mahama would learn from his mistakes and adopt a more mature way of addressing the people, but he has still not repented.
Edmund Kyei said Mr. Mahama, “because of his numerous comic statements”, is rapidly losing his statesman status even though he had served as Vice Present and President of Ghana.
“Under his administration, he reduced governance to a serious joke acting as a spectator, who watched on while his appointees stole millions of huge sums”, Mr. Kyei said in a chat with THE PUBLISHER.
“My simple advice to him is, it doesn’t take much time to lose the honour and dignity that comes with the word Statesman. If he goes on like this, he will create his own tag worthy not to be called one”.
