Mahama Names Transition Team

President-elect of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama has appointed a 10-member transition team to facilitate the smooth transfer of power between the incoming and outgoing administrations.

The President-elect confirmed during his victory speech on December 9 that he and President Akufo-Addo had agreed to inaugurate the joint transition team on Wednesday, December 11, marking a significant step towards ensuring a smooth political transition

The appointment, made in line with the Presidential (Transition) Act, 2012 (ACT 845), was announced in a press release dated December 10, signed by Sammy Gyamfi, Communications Director of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The transition team, as outlined in the release, is tasked with working closely with representatives of the outgoing government to ensure a seamless handover. The team comprises seasoned professionals from various sectors including finance, governance, and public administration.

The 10-member transition team appointed by President-elect John Dramani Mahama includes Hon. Julius Debrah as Co-Chairperson, Hon. Johnson AsieduNketia, Hon. FifiFiaviKwetey, Dr. Callistus Mahama (Secretary), Dr. Valerie Sawyer, Prof. KwamenaAhwoi, Hon. Dr. CassielAtoForson, Hon. Mahama Ayariga, Hon. GoosieTanoh, and Dr. Edward OmaneBoamah.In addition, Mahama has nominated Rt. Hon. Edward Doe Adjaho to serve as a member of the Transitional Advisory Council.

PRESIDENT-ELECT, H.E. JOHN DRAMANI MAHAMA APPOINTS MEMBERS OF THE 2024 TRANSITION TEAM.

H.E. John Dramani Mahama, President-elect of the Republic of Ghana, has in accordance with the provisions of the Presidential (Transition) Act, 2012 (ACT 845), appointed the following personalities as members of the 2024 Transition Team.

The team will work closely with representatives of the out-going government with a view to ensuring a smooth transfer of political power to the incoming administration.

The Transition Team is composed of experienced individuals drawn from various sectors, including finance, governance, and public administration.

The appointed members of the Joint Transition Team are as follows:
