Mahama To Meet All Regional Party Executives Elected
NDC flagbearer hopeful, John Mahama has indicated he will soon meet winners and losers of the just ended Party regional executive elections across the 10 regions in Ghana.
The NDC party over the weekend elected a new executive to lead affairs of party activities for the next four years ahead.
In the election, former Transport Minister Dzifa Attivor lost her bid to lead the NDC in the Volta region, Former Deputy Sports Minister Joesph Yamin also lost the Ashanti regional Chairman bid by 88 votes and Former Central Regional Minister, Aquinas Tawiah Quansah who ahead of the election appeared formidable to win gained 157 votes to place third.
Meanwhile, Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the NDC, Ade Coker was re-elected as he secured 319 votes.
However, in a Facebook post, the former President of Ghana, John Mahama said he has already spoken with the 10 regional chairmen elected on Saturday.
“I have also called and expressed my personal message of encouragement to many of the candidates who were not successful in the elections,” he wrote.
Mahama expressed concern that there were no losers in the elections as “our great party, the NDC, is the winner”.
John Mahama advised the newly elected executives across the regions to reach out to all and sundry and bring them on board “for victory in election 2020”.
“The real work has just begun and we must all put our shoulders to the wheel going forward,” Mr Mahama stated.
“I look forward to meeting you all when I begin visiting the constituencies and regions in the coming weeks.”
