THE NEW Patriotic Party (NPP) is suspected to have been filled with fright, following ex-President Mahama’s choice of running mate for the 2020 polls.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate announced ex-Education Minister, Prof. Jane Naana Agyeman as his running mate on Monday.
Afrifa Yamoah Ponkoh, a bigwig in the opposition NDC, has stated that Mr. Mahama’s choice has came as big shock and cause of worry for the NPP and the party’s teeming members.
“Prof. Jane Naana Agyeman’s selection by Mr. Mahama has sparked fear and panic in the NPP because they know that the NDCs pair is the best for the state”.
According to him “the ruling NPP cannot handle the NDC pair of “John and Jane”, stressing that the NDC are poised to recapture political power in December 7, 2020.
Afrifa Yamoah Ponkoh, who is an outspoken politician said the NPP would never escape defeat in the upcoming presidential and parliamentary polls.
Interestingly, there were reports that some NPP members started to jubilate after the NDC presented the John/Jane pair for the polls. They said the NDC pair cannot match the NPP’s Nana/Bawumia pair.
Reacting to this report, Yamoah Ponkoh charged the NPP to “go for thanksgiving in church if the John/Jane pair is easy for them”, saying “the NDC will win the polls”.
