THE MAJORITY Leader, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, will not be in parliament again after December 2024, he has hinted.
He disclosed that he would be contesting for the Suame Constituency seat for the last time in the upcoming 2020 elections, and would draw the curtains down on his parliamentary career soon after that.
He, however, did not state any strong reason for his ‘retirement’ from parliament in 2024, apart from that he wanted to be with his family.
Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, from the outside, looks healthy, and therefore health issues could not be a convincing factor for his exit. Apart from that, the Suame Constituency is one of the safest seats for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ashanti region, hence his decision sounds strange to political analysts in the region.
Unleashing the bombshell on Nhyira FM, the Majority Leader said his decision not secret.
“I have already told my constituents that after 2020 elections, I am not coming back to contest as their MP”, he said confidently.
