He said Ghanaians expect the delegates of the NDC to choose the right who will be able to win power from the Akufo-Addo government in 2020.
Describing the 2020 election as a deciding political battle between the NDC and the NPP, the former President said the hopes and strength of the NDC to win the general election was highly placed in the branch executives.
Governance, the former President explained was about attitude and appealed to the executives to eschew pride in their campaign and serve the people in humility.
Former President Mahama said he had noticed from his campaign tour that many Ghanaians were yearning to see the NDC regaining political power in Election 2020 and added that it would not be an easy task for the NDC if he was not given the nod to lead the party and appealed to the delegates to vote for him in the party’s congress slated come December.
I’m the only one to rescue Ghanaians from their struggles – John Mahama
Former President John Dramani Mahama reiterated that, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), is the only political party that can rescue citizens from the economic hardship they are experiencing today.
The aspiring presidential candidate hopeful told delegates that, Ghanaians are yearning for the return of NDC hence the need for them to give him a massive endorsement on December 7, 2018 so he will lead the umbrella family to victory in 2020.
Mr Mahama said, ‘’before victory 2020, you [delegates] should look out for someone with the requite skills, someone who can provide competent leadership, someone with the track record to deliver and someone with the experience to provide citizens with better leadership. You need to look out for a unifier and a leader who can be trusted.’’
