Man Caught With Human Parts Escapes
The Watch Dog Committee of Kuntunasi in the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District of the Central Region, for a brief moment had in their grip, a man alleged to be travelling with some human parts.
The unidentified young man believed to be between the age of 25 to 30 years old, was arrested on 3 am Tuesday with a sack containing human parts.
According to Hope FM news reporter, Evans Kwadwo Donkor, the suspect, was caught by the residents while passing through the town to an unknown destination.
“When he was arrested, the suspect was speaking the Ewe language but since none of the committee members could understand, they took him to an Ewe man for further interrogation,” Evans told the PUBLISHER.
It was upon interrogations that the suspect mustered courage and took to his heels, leaving behind a sack full of skeletal remains of unknown persons.
The sack according to Evans contained three human skulls, jaw and bones believed to have been exhumed from an Islamic cemetery in the community.
Also, in the sack was a shovel and some other items used to exhume the body.
Members of the watchdog committee believe the suspect was on his way to sell off the items to a native doctor who operates in the area.
Meanwhile, the matter has been reported to the Police who are doing all they can to catch-up with absconded suspect.
Engagements between the elders and the District Chief Executive (DCE) of the town have also begun to ascertain steps to resolve the matter.
The traditional leaders of the town say they are making plans to bury the exhumed parts, following the necessary rituals.
