A 32-YEAR-OLD Man has been stabbed to death at Tafo Pankrono in Kumasi and the suspicion is that he was killed by a jealous rival over a woman’s love.
David Gyimah, the deceased, was in a love relationship with his sweetheart, Mercy Osei and they both lived at Kodua Junction at Pankrono in the Ashanti region.
He is suspected to have been killed by a certain Sulemana Gibril, who happens to be a former lover to Mercy Osei. The two, Gibril and Mercy, even have a child together although they are separated as lovers.
On Monday January 8, this year, someone, suspected to be Gibril, stabbed Gyimah in the abdomen and fled from the scene to escape arrest.
The victim was rushed to the Tafo Government Hospital where he gave up the ghost after bleeding profusely.
One Sulemana Gibril, the ex-boyfriend of Mercy Osei, is said to be the prime suspect so the police at Tafo Pankrono have apprehended him to assist in investigations.
The prime suspect is said to have sternly warned Mercy Osei that he was not comfortable about her (Mercy’s) amorous relationship with the deceased even a day before Gyimah was stabbed to death.
A police source, who narrated the story to THE PUBLISHER on condition of anonymity, said Mercy Osei used to date Gibril and the love birds were blessed with a young boy but they have separated for some time now.
He said a day before Gyimah was stabbed, Gibril, who now lives with his new wife at Atafua near Asuofia, stormed Mercy’s house at Kodua Junction, Tafo Panlkrono, to demand his television set.
During that visit, Gibril was said to have, again, threatened Mercy about her movement with Gyimah.
The source disclosed that about 2am of January 8, 2018, the very day that Gyimah was killed by the unknown assailant, suspect Gibril, again, visited Mercy’s house to pick his son.
According to him, Gyimah was later on stabbed under strange circumstances. He said Gibril’s name emerged as the prime suspect so the police rushed to his house at Atafua to arrest him to help in investigations.
The source said the wife of Gibril disclosed to the police that her husband (Gibril) came home around 6am that very day, adding that he (Gibril) then ordered her to wash his clothes, socks and sneakers, which she did, but she denied seeing blood stains in them.
According to the source, the suspect upon interrogation denied killing Gyimah and he went ahead to mention one Yaw Sarpong aka ’50 Cent’ and his wife, as the killers of Gyimah.
He said the police are yet to pick the couple, who Gibril has accused, to also assist in investigations.
