Man Kills Wife, Then Commits Suicide

There was double-horror in the Adanse North District of the Ashanti Region when a man, aged 35, murdered his wife after which he committed suicide.

Reports say the embittered man suspected his wife was having an intercourse outside their marriage.

The man, identified as Emmanuel Awudi, according to reports, butchered his wife, Abena Kakra, to death in their house.

The sad incident happened at Awudikrom Kwantisu Electoral Area, a suburb of Fomena in the Adanse North District.

The incensed-looking man, reportedly, killed the wife with a sharp machete around 4:30am on Monday and fled the scene.

The matter was reported to the police, who came for the body and started a wild hunt to apprehend the ‘killer’ husband.

To the horror of the people in the area, Awudi was later on seen dead, hanging on a tall tree in thick bush in the area.

Eye witnesses said the husband suspected his wife of not being faithful, hence taking the unthinkable wicked action.

They said the husband and wife fought fiercely in their house on Sunday evening and the matter was settled by the people.

According to the people, they were therefore shocked to the marrow when Awudi killed his wife and hanged himself, 24 hours later.
