Man Shot In The Face

A MAN has surprisingly escaped death after he was shot in the face by some hardened armed robbers, who are currently on the run.

Baba Abugri was hit by a live bullet when robbers invaded Teacherkrom near Ejura in the Ashanti Region, on a robbery spree on Friday at 7pm.

Two other people in the community, identified as Kwaku Adu and Blessing were also hit by stray bullets, causing severe injuries to them.

Eyewitnesses said the injured people were rushed to hospital for treatment and two were discharged but Kwaku Adu whose injury is severe, is still on admission.

Awudu Ibrahim, an influential person in the community, said the robbers were in the area to rob a popular Mobile Money (Momo) Vendor.

He said the runaway hoodlums, without provocation, started to fire bullets at all directions and three people were hit by bullets.

“The three injured people were rushed to the hospital for treatment. Abugri and Blessing were treated and discharged since their injuries were not that severe.

“However, Kwaku Adu, who was shot in the arm and suffered life-threatening injuries, was referred to a medical facility for treatment at Jamasi”, Ibrahim said.

According to him, the robbers could not get close to the Momo Vendor as there were a lot of people at Teacherkrom during their attack, sayjng “they could not steal anything”.

He said the robbers managed to ran from the robbery scene through the bush, adding that they (robbers) reportedly attacked other people on their way to their hidden place.
