Award winning investigative journalist and Editor-in-Chief of ‘The Fourth Estate,’ Manasseh Awuni, has urged student journalists at the African University College of Communications to dare to be different in their chosen career.
He was speaking to them on how to “stand out as an investigative journalist” at a workshop held by the Ama Ata Aidoo Centre for Creative Writing.
In his presentation, Mr. Awuni shared the three core principles that have kept him thriving for ten years and counting. He called them the three “Cs” namely; COMPETENCE, COURAGE, and CHARACTER.
The award-winning journalist urged the students who would choose investigative journalism as a career to be straight, anticipate anything, and go about their work with clean hearts and a right conscience.
He suggested that an Investigative Journalism Club should be formed on campus to serve as a forum for students to interact with experienced investigative journalists, adding that he will be happy to come around and interact with students in that club.
