THE ASHANTI Regional Police Command have launched a man hunt to apprehend four suspected robbers, who shot a gold dealer dead on Saturday evening.
The bandits, reportedly, robbed one Akwasi, a famous gold dealer at Kunsu near Mankranso in the Ashanti Region, of his money around 7:30pm on that fateful day.
The robbery victim, according to eyewitnesses reports, had just sold quantities of gold at a Gold Shop at Kunsu and he was robbed of all his money, shortly afterwards.
The trigger-happy killers were reported to have pointed an AK47 assault rifle gun on the hapless and helpless Akwasi before taking away his money.
They then took to their heels.
A police source told THE NEW PUBLISHER that Akwasi did not take the action of the robbers kindly as he decided to run after them, ostensibly to retrieve his money.
The trigger-happy bandits were surprised about Akwasi’s bravado so they (robbers) then decided to shoot him dead before fleeing with their stolen money.
Meanwhile, the shooting incident was said to have shaken the Ashanti Regional Police Command, who have therefore decided to work and arrest the robbers to face the law.
DCOP Afful Boakye Yiadom, the Ashanti Regional Police Commander, is reported to have personally visited Kunsu to assure the people that the robbers would be nabbed soon.
