Manhya To Ban NDC If….
Nana Nkansah Boadu Ayeboafo, the Agric Nzemahene, has sternly warned the leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) against extending their propaganda to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with THE NEW PUBLISHER, Nana Ayeboafo said the party would be banned from visiting the Manhyia Palace if the leaders fail to apologise to Otumfuo for the disparaging insinuations they made against the Monarch.
According to him, the Asante Monarch is highly respected and revered personality in Ghana and the world at large, and therefore must be accorded the due respect by all, including the NDC.
The chief issued the caution after Julius Debrah, the former Chief of Staff and Omane Boamah (former Communication Minister), had allegedly imputed that Otumfuo had lied about the NDC flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama.
It would be recalled that, the Asantehene, during an address at the United Nations (UN) General Assembly in New York, disclosed that he had to persuade ex-President Mahama before he accepted the results of the 2016 presidential elections. The claim consequently incurred the displeasure of the leading opposition party (NDC).
Nana Nkansah Boadu Ayeboafo said it was disheartening for the NDC leaders to have mustered the courage to speak in public against the Asante Monarch.
“This is a show of disrespect to the Asante King and we will not accept this behaviour from the NDC henceforth”, the Agric Nzemahene fumed.
He sternly warned: “Asantes will not allow the NDC to extend their usual propaganda and politics of insults and insinuations to the Asantehene, our respected overlord”.
