Manhyia South NPP members clearing filth from a spot

A MASSIVE cleanup exercise has taken place around the Manhyia Palace, the official seat of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

The exercise was organized by the Manhyia South executives of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and led by the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh aka ‘Napo’.

Scores of party members swept the streets, cleared choked gutters and weeded the bushy areas around the palace to make the place look appealing.

Osei Assibey Antwi, the Kumasi Mayor, Kwabena Nsenkyire and Francis Adomako, Ashanti regional first vice chairman and other organizers of the NPP were there.

The Asawase Napo Fun Club members from Asawase Constituency also participated in the exercise, which lasted for about five hours.

Osei Assibey Antwi saluted Napo for his exceptional leadership style which has united Manhyia South NPP. Gabriel Kofi Anane, the constituency Chairman, said Otumfuo’s 20 years anniversary will attract scores of people to Manhyia South Constituency, hence the need to clean the constituency.

For his part, Haruna Alhassan, the Manhyia South Constituency Secretary, said the exercise will be replicated on April 13th and 27th.
