Manhyia South Schools Top BECE Results

THE MINISTER of Education, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh aka ‘Napo’ will certainly be a proud man, as Junior High Schools in the Manhyia South Constituency, where he is the Member of Parliament (MP), placed first among the five constituencies in Kumasi in Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) results.

“The Manhyia South Constituency has come first with an average of 76 percent pass rate in the BECE results”, David Oppong, the Kumasi Metro Director of Education, announced in public.

Mr. Oppong said the feat shows that Napo’s efforts in promoting education is indeed yielding fruits.

He was speaking when Napo, who is passionate about promoting the standards of education in his constituency, made a presentation to public schools in his area.

Napo has become a household name across the 275 constituencies in the country and even beyond, following his roles in transforming the educational sector.

For instance, Napo is main the brain behind the successful implementation of the famous free Senior High School (SHS) policy, which has improved students enrolment.

Mr. Oppong, who was short of words, described Napo as a national asset, considering his impact on the education sector within a short time, saying “Napo is a genius”.

Firebrand Member of Parliament for e Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, also recently ranked the Education Minister, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh as the Best Performing Minister in the Nana Addo led government.
According to him, the Education Ministry was constantly hit by series of teacher demonstrations in the past but the current Education Minister, nicknamed as ‘Napo’, has been able to weathered the storm, so far.

Kennedy Agyapong, who was speaking on Good Evening Ghana programme aired on Metro TV, stated that the ease at which Napo has been able to stop the teacher demonstrations shows he is a true leader.

“The Education Ministry is a controversial ministry so for Napo to have survived without demonstrations show that he is good”, Kennedy Agyapong said in response to who is the best minister in the country now.

According to him, aside his good works at the Education Ministry, Napo is also the toast of NPP members, especially the grassroot party people across the 275 constituencies in the country.

Kennedy Agyapong, who is an outspoken politician, stated that the party people have been speaking positively about Napo’s positive human relations and his willingness to always extend a helping hand to them.

“Honestly, wherever I go, the party people say Napo, they say he is the best performing minister”, Kennedy Agyapong disclosed and added that as a democrat, he always believes in majority decision.
