The Regional Maritime University (RMU) in Accra joyously initiated the Christmas season with a lively Christmas tree lighting ceremony on campus days ago.
The event, graced by the Acting Vice Chancellor, Dr. Jethro W. Brooks Jnr, celebrated the hard work and dedication of the university’s staff, who are key contributors to its successful operations throughout the year.
During the ceremony, Dr. Brooks took a moment to inspire a sense of solidarity among the university’s staff, underscoring the significance of nurturing strong professional relationships. He encouraged staff members to express appreciation and goodwill through the exchange of thoughtful gifts, emphasizing that this practice would not only enhance professional relations but also foster a more collaborative and productive work environment, ultimately elevating the fortunes of the university.
Grateful for the inclusive nature of the celebration, Dr. Brooks extended acknowledgment and appreciation to non-Christian members of the RMU community for actively participating in the festivities. He praised this as a heartening display of love and togetherness, values that the university consistently aims to instill among its diverse staff.
In addition to the tree lighting ceremony, the festivities featured the singing of carols, adding a melodious and festive atmosphere to the occasion. The university campus was also adorned with the sparkle of launched fireworks, captivating the attendees and contributing to the jubilant ambiance.
Concluding with a warm and heartfelt message, Dr. Brooks extended wishes for a joyous festive season to all members of the RMU staff, urging them to embrace the holiday spirit. The Christmas tree lighting ceremony, coupled with carol singing and a spectacular fireworks display, marked the commencement of a season filled with festive cheer, unity, and shared joy at the Regional Maritime University.
