Massive Demo Over Abuakwa Roads
RESIDENTS OF Abuakwa and its environs in Kumasi yesterday embarked on a massive protest over the bad nature of roads in their area.
The activities of the demonstrators caused massive vehicular traffic from the Sofoline Interchange area to Abuakwa, which is already a traffic-prone area.
Clad in red and black attire to display their extreme anger, the demonstrators issued a strong warning to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government to fix their roads immediately of face their wrath.
According to them, they are also part of Ghana and therefore could not fathom why government had turned its back at them.
They particularly lambasted the government for neglecting the Sofoline Interchange project and all other roads at Abuakwa and the Atwima communities, many of which were started under ex-President Kufuor, in 2007, and threatened that should government refuse to heed to their demands, they would take the appropriate action in the election 2020.
“We will vote against the NPP government if they fail to fix our roads. We also deserve better”, some of the angry demonstrators declared.
