MCE Eyes Muntaka’s Seat
THE MCE for Asokore Mampong, in the Ashanti region, Alidu Seidu, is set to unseat the National Democratic Congress’ Member of Parliament for the Asawase Constituency, Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka, in 2020.
He explained that he is banking his hopes on landmark developmental projects in the constituency to help unseat the Asawase lawmaker next year.
“The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has never hiden our intentions to wrest the Asawase seat from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in 2020.
“And ever since we assumed the mantle of leadership in the state, our government has done enough to show that we can win the Asawase seat.
“My administration has worked tirelessly to bring landmark developmental projects to the community to help improve the lives of the people.
“The projects are not targeted to win the Asawase seat but I am convinced it will help win the NPP a lot of votes during the upcoming polls”.
Speaking in an interview with THE PUBLISHER, Alidu said his municipality had experienced massive development in just two years.
“We have constructed bridges at Parkoso, Sepe and Asokore Mampong to help make it easier for the people to travel within the municipality.
“We have also constructed a new court building, built a lot of classroom blocks and health facilities and other landmark projects so far”.
Alidu stated that the people of Asawase are garteful of the positive works of the NPP so “they will definitely reward us with the Asawase seat in 2020”.
