MCE Warn Drug Dealers
Dealers and users of illicit drugs, such as cocaine and heroin, within the Asokore Mampong Municipality have been warned to stop the practice or face the law.
This is because, the MCE for the municipality, Hon. Alidu Seidu, said the assembly has decided to make the place a drug-free area.
He said other security agencies had already been contacted to assist the police to achieve this great ambition of chasing out all drug dealers and users from the municipally.
“We have engaged the BNI to combine with the police service so that together they can help to stop the sale and use of drugs from the area.
“These security agencies have started combing around to identify all the ghettos where illicit drugs are sold to prospective buyers.
“Also, all houses in the municipality, where illicit drugs are sold to people, have been identified and in due time the security agencies will strike”, he stressed, and warned house owners who allow their houses to be used as bases for the sale of illicit drugs to stop in their own interest.
He was speaking during a Town Hall Meeting held at Asokore Mampong. In attendance were prominent people in the area, including traditional chiefs and Imams.
