“Menzgold Is Here To Stay” – Nana Appiah Mensah
The CEO of Menzgold, Nana Appiah Mensah, has said the gold dealership firm will not fold up despite the challenges it is facing with some state agencies.
His comment follows a comment by the Deputy Minister of Finance, Charles Adu Boahen that Menzgold will not operate again.
Mr Boahen made the remark on Thursday, 1 November 2018 at the JoyBusiness Financial Service Forum.
“With the Menzgold issue, I think it is clear that the end is here. He is done,” Mr Boahen said.
But the CEO who served notice that he would be addressing the public on Menzgold and other related matters on Zylofon102.1FM on Monday, 5 November, said in a tweet that: “Menzgold is here to stay”.
”I would be addressing the public on Menzgold and other related matters on Zylofon fm, 102.1 on Monday, Time with Menzgold between 11am & 12noon. Kindly tune in. Menzgold is here to stay. #Ghanashallprosper”
Currently, there is a legal battle between Menzgold, the Bank of Ghana and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) at an Accra High Court.
