Mess Tennis Whips KNUST …To Win Barclays Trophy
The Garrison Officers Mess Tennis Club is the proud winner of the second edition of the Barclays Bank Tennis Competition, when it defeated the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Tennis Club 7-5 in a singles and doubles tennis encounter.
The one-day tournament, organized by the bank to help improve the health and physical status of its customers, was also used by the top financial institution to also help its staff to fraternise with customers.
Isaac Owusu, representing the customers of Barclays Bank, also beat Lawrence Atatuba, the Barclays Bank Cluster Manager, 6-0 in a curtain raiser match.
Speaking after the tournament, Evelyn Acquah, Head of Affluent Segment, Barclays Bank Ghana Limited, said her outfit always wanted to see that its customers lived healthy lives. She therefore urged the public to do more business with the bank.
According to her, plans were in the pipeline to take the competition to the national level by next year.
Samuel Ampadu-Kyei aka ‘Kyikyiss’, the Chairman of 4 Garrison Officers Mess Tennis Club, commended Barclays Bank for always investing in its customers, and urged the institution to sustain its good works.
