Officials of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) barring an eleventh-hour change are prepared to name Serbian and former Black Stars trainer, Milovan Rajevac (Milo) to take up the vacant Black Stars coaching job.
According to sources, the three-man team comprising GFA Vice President, Mark Addo, Dr Randy Abbey and Alhaji Salifu Zida Shaibu tasked to hunt for a new coach after the sacking of coach C.K Akonor days ago have concluded on Milovan Rajevac.
The 67-year old is expected to turn around the recent bad fortunes of the national team, see to the successful qualification to the 2022 FIFA World Cup scheduled to be held in Qatar as well as perform better for the ultimate gold medal at the upcoming African Cup of Nations in Cameroun.
So far, Otto Addo, former Black Stars player and George Boateng of Aston Villa fame have emerged as the probable deputies.
Reacting to the development, John Paintsil, who has played a vital role in the Black Stars success story over the years, said the appointment of Milovan is a wrong move.
“If it is true Milo is taking over the job then I say the timing is wrong because how well does he know this current team.
“Our time was different because all the players were already made and it will only take a miracle to help him qualify this team,” the former defender said in an interview with Angel FM.
