Minister for Health Commissions 10 Health Facillities
The Ministry of Health has yesterday August 15, commissioned and handed over some health facilities to the Ghana Health Service.
Bimpong Egya Polyclinic in TAM district – 15 bed capacity, Akunfude Polyclinic – 15 bed capacity and Biriwa Polyclinic- 30 bed capacity were commissioned and handed over to GHS today August 15.
Ten health facilities in the Central Region are to be commissioned by the MOH and handed over to the GHS for operationalization. The remaining seven health facilities, each at Narkwa, Etsii Sunkwa, Bisease, Jamra, Mankrong, Dawurampong and Potsin will be commissioned and handed over on August 16 – 17 .
Each of the health facility has a theatre, maternity ward, laboratory unit, pharmacy unit, injection and dressing room, and few other units.
The Minister of Health, Hon Kwaku Agyemang Manu in his speech tasked managers to ensure good management practices and maintenance culture. He also advised staff to improve on their customer care.
At the event were the Director-General of the Ghana Health Service, Dr Anthony Nsiah-Asare, the Regional Director of Health Services, Dr Alexis Nang-Beifuba, the Regional Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer and other members of the Regional Health Management Team. The Traditional Leaders, District Assembly Officers and other key stakeholders were also present.
