Minister Takes Free Education to Salah Prayers
THE ASHANTI Regional Minister, Hon. Simon Osei Mensah, has carried the Free Senior High School (SHS) message to this year’s Salah festivities and advised Muslims in the country to take advantage of the policy so that their children and wards could benefit from it.
According to him, the President Nana Akufo-Addo’s government has the interest of the future of the youth in the country at heart, hence the introduction of the policy.
“I will entreat you to take full advantage of the government’s free SHS programme so that you can send your children to school to enable them become responsible in future”.
Addressing hundreds of Muslims at the Kumasi Central Mosque during prayers to observe this year’s Eid-Ul-Fitr celebrations, he stressed that education is the main key to success in life.
The Regional Minister stated that with the introduction of the policy, no parent had any excuse not to send their children to school.
He said the gap between the rich and the poor in society could be narrowed significantly if education would be easily accessible to the populace, and noted that Ghanaians are lucky to have a president like Nana Akufo-Addo, who valued education and made it his government’s top priority.
Muslims gathered for the celebration, under the direction of the Ashanti Regional Chief Imam, Sheikh Abdul Mumin Haroun, fervently prayed for the transformation of the country.
They also prayed for Allah’s special protection, guidance and blessings for all Ghanaians in the coming year.
