Miss Tourism Ghana 2023 launched

Miss Tourism Ghana 2023 on Friday, April 28, was launched at the Tang Palace Hotel. The beauty pageant that has all these years, been aimed at promoting the authentic and diverse cultures of Ghana was launched this year to continue showcasing “Tourism as the Heart of Ghana”, whilst paying very close attention to ‘Keeping Ghana Clean.’

The event saw many stakeholders in the tourism industry attending and showing their support to the organisation.  Mr. Jones Aruna Nelson, Head of Corporate Affairs at the Ghana Tourism Authority, Mr. Kofi Atta Kakra Kusi, Deputy Head of Corporate Affairs of the Ghana Tourism Authority.  Mr. Nelson and Mr. Kusi came to represent Hon. Akwasi Agyeman, who is the CEO of the Ghana Tourism Authority.  Mrs. Alisa Osei Asamoah, President of the Tour Operators Union of Ghana; Mr. Caleb Cofie, Executive Director of Service Excellence Foundation, Mr. David Eduaful, Managing Director of Labadi Beach Hotel and Mrs. Stella Appenteng, who was the chairperson for the occasion.  We had scores of other people who came to support the initiative.

Speaking at the launch, the CEO of the Miss Tourism Ghana Organisation, Mrs. Delphine Brew-Hammond said, the Keep Ghana Clean campaign was to encourage everyone to go back to doing the little they can to keep the environment clean and safe for us all.  It will also bring more tourists to the country if it is clean.  Mrs. Brew-Hammond continued by saying “through the pageant, envisions a country with inspired and confident young women who are proud of who they are, and groomed to positively lead wherever they find themselves.”  In her speech, she listed quite a number of contestants who have over the years represented Ghana in other international pageants and made the country proud.

She also urged all young women to take up the life-changing opportunity and participate in this year’s pageant as they will soon be announcing the dates for auditions and move on to crown the next Queen and Princesses.

She ended her speech by thanking all sponsors, Tang Palace Hotel, Lele Foods, Lush Haircare, Lancaster Hotel, Francis Kofi and Joyce Asare Brifu, the McCabe Foundation, Nana Ekua Brew-Hammond, Goodies Shito, both past and present and stakeholders of the pageant for their immense support and contribution to the vision of the organisation all these years.
