Missing Names Rock NPP Voters’ Register
Missing names in the voters register for the polling station elections of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has sparked some confusion and caused deep cracks within the party at the Obuasi East Constituency in the Ashanti region.
Some of the elected people during the party elections, strangely, cannot find their names in the party’s polling station register, reports making rounds suggest.
This unfortunate development has caused anger among the affected party people, who suspect the development as an attempt to sabotage them.
These angry-looking party people have threatened to cause more troubles in the party in the constituency until their names are restored in the register.
One of such party people, who gave her name as Memuna Yahaya, said some party kingpins were behind the ‘missing names’ saga.
Even though she could not mention names, she said information she is privy to suggests that some party gurus wants to prune the register to benefit them.
Narrating her ordeal, she said her name was boldly captured in the party’s register on a computer after the polling station elections results were declared.
Surprisingly, she stated, her name was missing in the party’s register the next day and so she vehemently protested against the weird development.
Memuna Yahaya said on Nhyira FM that her constant protests yielded positive results as her name was eventually restored into the party’s register.
She, however, warned the party leadership to desist from discriminating against known party members since that act can return the party back into opposition.
The ruling party will rely on the polling station register to organize intra party elections at the constituency, regional national levels national.
