AN 18 YEAR-old boy was saved from the jaws of death after an angry mob tried to lynch him on Sunday dawn at Abuakwa Apemhase in the Ashanti Region.
A group of people saw Sylvester Osei Bonsu, the 18 year old boy, chasing a woman, with a loaded gun, around 1am. He is yet to explain his reason for chasing the unarmed woman with a loaded pistol.
The mob intervened by saving the unidentified woman from a looming death before they pounced on Osei Bonsu.
The mob was on the brink of lynching Osei Bonsu when two other people, mustered courage to save his life.
The duo that saved the boy at Abuakwa Apemhase were Akwasi Frimpong, Civil Servant, and Yaw Asamoah Adjei.
A police report has confirmed that indeed Osei Bonsu was chasing a n unarmed woman with a locally manufactured pistol.
It also said but for the intervention of Frimpong and Yaw Asamoah, the mob could have killed the 18 year old boy.
The police report said Frimpong and Yaw Asamoah, after saving the boy’s life, handed him to the Abuakwa police.
The police found exhibits such as two live AA Cartridges and a locally manufactured pistol from Osei Bonsu.
Osei Bonsu would be arraigned in the coming days to face the law after the police had concluded their investigations.
