A mobile phone has reportedly aided to blow the cover of the key suspect in the killing of Ruth Ama Eshun, The New Publisher has gathered.
The deceased, a Community Health Nurse at Sewia-Ayuom in Bosomtwe District, is suspected to have been murdered without any justification.
Her lifeless body was found few meters to her house at Ayuom and it was suspected that some hoodlums raped her before ending Ruth’s life.
Searching for the killers became a daunting task for the police until they managed to retrieve a Samsung mobile phone at the crime scene.
With the mobile phone as evidence, police investigators managed to eventually apprehend one Dominic Fosu, 35 years, the owner of the phone, from his hideout.
“First suspect, Dominic Fosu, 35, was arrested on February 5, 2020 at Sewua Aboaso after a Samsung mobile phone belonging to him was retrieved at the scene of crime.
“He has since been remanded into police custody by the Asokwa District Court, presided over by H/W Korkor Achaw Owusu to reappear in court on Wednesday, February 26, 2020”.
ACP David Agyeman Adjem, the Deputy Ashanti Regional Police Commander, who made the disclosure in a press release, announced that a second suspect has been nabbed.
“On Thursday February 13, 2020, police acting on a tip off, arrested suspect Kofi Gariba aka ‘Amanya Atiuwnenti’, 37, a mason apprentice to assist in investigations”.
The police capo stated that Kofi Gariba was being kept in police custody, adding that he (Gariba) would be arraigned soon. He assured that all suspects in the case would be nabbed.
